Adding Colour to the Initial Poster Designs

Poster Designs 1:
For the first design, I decided to use the green as the background as it has a bold colour allowing the text to stand out in white but not as bright as the orange, which would be too alarming on the eyes. By using the four-colour colour palette, I was able to spread the colours throughout the design layering them differently for each location. Also, the use of colour has improved the design without need to change or alter the design. The first designs have taken the colour palette well, with the overall appearance being given a vintage appeal and an eye-catching aesthetic.
Poster Designs 2:
In comparison to the first design, the second hasn't improved as greatly with the addition of colour. It was more difficult to place the three colours throughout the design. I decided to use the orange as the feature of the text and using the pale yellow as the drop shadow. Like the first design, I chose to use the green as the background underneath the 'g' to contrast the white alphabet example. This design appears more disconnected with the addition of colour, as each element appear separate without creating a coherent design.
As a result of this experiment, I have decided to move forward with the first poster design. From here I will begin creating designs for the remaining typefaces and adding different colour schemes for each.
